The Conference National Board – Arts Practice Exam

The requirement that is not mandated under the OSHA Personal Protective Equipment Standard for embalmers is related to the obligation for purchasing expensive protective equipment. OSHA's guidelines focus on ensuring worker safety and the provision of suitable personal protective equipment (PPE) based on the hazards present in the workplace.

While employers are indeed required to assess potential hazards and provide appropriate PPE, there is no stipulation that the equipment must be expensive. The emphasis is on the adequacy and suitability of the PPE rather than its cost. Employers should be able to find reasonably priced options that still meet safety standards.

The other options listed, such as understanding PPE procedures, signing a certification of training, and using appropriate PPE for specific tasks, are all essential components of ensuring that embalmers are adequately trained and equipped to perform their jobs safely, fulfilling OSHA's regulatory requirements.
